Photographic Intention
_ Most photography attempts to capture a snapshot in time; my
work is geared towards capturing snapshots of DreamTime. The aborigines say underneath the surface
reality lies DreamTime. It’s not just
humans who dream but everything is dreaming – the plants, the animals even the
unopened tube of toothpaste is spewing forth
dreams. Hard to fathom while awake as
our external sensory inputs drown out the myriad stimuli from other
levels. But that is what my work
attempts to recreate, the sense that we are creatures of dreaming living in a
world that is still permeated by dreams whether we consciously perceive them or
not.
